Seven healthy males (mean age 27.4 years with a standard deviation of 4.4) participated in a study by Lambert et al. (A-59), who measured intestinal absorption following oral ingestion and intestinal perfusion of a fluid. As part of the study the researchers recorded the following percent changes in plasma volume at six points during 85 minutes of cycle exercise in the drinking and infusion experiments:
