3. Generational Activity: Form into small groups and discuss the characteristics of each generational group discussed on pages 119–120. Are there any characteristics you think should be added or removed?
Discuss at least two of the following:

a. You are a member of the Millennial Generation and your boss is a Baby Boomer. How might barriers for listening differ between the two of you?
What might you want to change in your own style to enhance the communication between you and your boss?

b. Imagine you are working in a small group with members from at least four of the generations.
Which generational characteristic do you think would be the most important to know that would enhance your ability to interact as a group? What topic areas do you think would cause the most problems when listening to multiple generations in the workplace?

c. Discuss which organization type from Chapter 2 would best accommodate multiple generations?
Give specific reasons and be prepared to share with other groups or the class.
