Cepeda, 2013 called “Laptop multitasking hinders classroom learning for both users and nearby peers”

(see references for the entire source) and read The Wall Street Journal article (July 11, 2016, p. A15) by Stuart Green called “I'm banning laptops from my classroom.” In small groups, complete the following and be ready to share your answers with other groups:

a. List at least five specific problems with using computers to take notes during a lecture.

b. Have you ever been distracted by a classmate using a computer or tablet during a class lecture/
discussion? Was your comprehension of material affected negatively?

c. Should laptops and tablets be banned from the classroom? Why or why not?
6. Unit II Activity: Now that you have studied the content of this chapter, go back to Unit II (p. 102) and reread the Real-Life Case: An Engineer’s Experience with Communication and Listening.

a. In groups of three to seven, show your knowledge of listening by discussing your answers to the Chapter 4 questions on page 103.

b. Summarize by answering this final question:
What role, if any, did attribution theory play in the crisis involving LeMessurier and the Citigroup Center tower? Justify your answer with specific reasons.
