As Secretary of your local literary and arts society, write a letter to a well-known figure (of your own selection) inviting him or her to address your society at the first of the next season's meetings. In your letter give some brief introductory details of your society as well as the arrangements for the lecture and for the reception of your speaker, who will be travelling some distance and will have to stay overnight.
