When he entered the room he found papers thrown all over the floor, a vase of flowers broken, ink on the carpet, desk drawers open, and the safe door open. You go with the caretaker, and see that the safe is empty.

You know that when you left last night it contained £150 in cash and £50 worth of insurance stamps. You ask him if he has telephoned the police, find that he has not, and do so yourself.

The police arrive, examine the room and take statements froni other members of staff.
