Natural Foods Inc. (Natural) is a Nevada-based firm that sells organic beef. Although it originally did business exclusively in Nevada through a small retail stand, Natural eventually created a website whereby customers throughout the United States could order beef to be shipped from Natural’s ranch in Nevada to any city in the United States. When ordering, customers provided their billing and shipping addresses as well as credit card information and could sign up to receive newsletters. Johanna, a resident of Florida, ordered beef via Natural’s website and became sick after eating the product. Johanna sues Natural in a federal district court in Florida under a variety of theories.
