An article titled “The Latest on Workplace Monitoring and Surveillance” (American Management Association, November 17, 2014) referred to the “2007 Electronic Monitoring & Surveillance Survey.” In a summary of survey results submitted by 304 U.S. businesses, 85 of these businesses had fired workers for e-mail misuse.

Suppose that it is reasonable to regard these 304 businesses as a representative sample of businesses in the United States.
