Paying taxes. In April 2007, a CBS News Poll and a Gallup Poll each asked a question about the amount one pays in federal income taxes. Here are the two questions:

Do you feel you pay more than your fair share in federal income taxes, less than your fair share, or is the amount you pay about right?

Do you consider the amount of federal income tax you have to pay as too high, about right, or too low?

One of these questions drew 55% saying the amount was about right; the other, only 41%. Which wording pulls respondents away from saying the amount is about right? Why?
