The owner of The Atlas Company has invested $10,000 in the business. Select General Journal Entry from the Tasks menu to open the General Journal dia¬ log box. Enter the date 1/1/01 into the Date field; press the TAB key; enter “Memo” into the Reference field and press TAB.

The Date text box is used to record the date the transaction occurred. The Reference text box can be used for any reference number or notation you wish to associate with a general journal entry and/or the source document that authorizes the entry. Pressing the TAB key will take you to the General Journal’s Account field. Note that pressing ENTER will also move you from field to field. LO.1
