a. Explain why, if one wishes to maximize the lifetime, one should choose either design A and material 1, or design B and material 2.

b. Show that the main effect of design is equal to 0.

c. Show that the main effect of material is equal to 0.

d. Is it reasonable to conclude that neither design nor material has an effect on lifetime? Explain.
