(Equipment work sheet)
During 2005 the Streets and Parkways Department of Bacchus City plans to make the following purchases of equipment. Because these items each cost more than $400, they are budgeted under the category of Equipment. The items are the following:
1. Two three-quarter-ton pickup trucks. These trucks will be replacements for existing trucks and will have a net cost (after trade-in) of $9,500 each.
2. One two-ton flatbed truck. This truck is a new item that will be necessary because of the new work crew expected to be hired and the additional streets to be maintained. Estimated cost of the truck is $38,500.
3. Other new items to be purchased for use of the new work crew:

a. One asphalt machine $5,000

b. Two small cement mixers 1,400 each

c. Two jackhammers 1,200 each

d. One asphalt sealer 500

e. One 5’ X 8’ trailer (used) 1,000 4. Other items, which are replacements for existing items, to be purchased:

a. Three 22” lawn mowers $ 500 each

b. Two grass trimmers 3,600 each

c. One welding machine (used) 3,000 In 2003, the Streets and Parkways Department spent $48,250 on equipment.
For 2004, $56,000 has been budgeted, but only $42,360 of this amount has been spent to date. The director of this department estimates that by the end of fiscal year 2004, another $12,000 will be spent for equipment.
