it using your knowledge from other areas of the psychology course. Test your understanding by answering and discussing the following questions.

1. What kind of study is this (for example, experimental, correlational)?

2. What were the variables in this study? How many?

3. How were these variables operationalized?

4. What does r = 0.63 mean? Is it a tangible result? What does p < 0.001 mean?

5. Does the study show a cause–effect relationship between variables?

6. Are there any alternative explanations?

For example, is it possible that surgery skill inuences video game mastery and not the other way around?

7. To what extent are the results generalizable?

8. Are there any ethical considerations involved in the study?
