Question:
A 100-hp, three-phase, 60-Hz, 460-V, four-pole, 1750-rpm induction motor is used in an application, which would load the motor to only 65% of the rated torque (this is obviously a higher-rated motor than we need). Determine:
(1) Whether the motor at 65% load torque runs faster or slower than the rated speed of 1750 rpm,
(2) The actual speed, and
(3) The actual horsepower delivered to the load.
