Should the nurse call the family? Why or why not?

Following the death of a patient who had received the wrong medication, the patient’s family sued the hospital, the physician who ordered the medication, and the nurse who administered the medication. The nurse is very concerned and agrees to legal representation from the hospital attorneys. Weeks go by before she hears from the attorney. The nurse has malpractice insurance, but she is unsure what to do about it. She is frustrated and talks to a friend who is also a nurse.
