Talk with members of your family (grandparents can be particularly good resources) about your own family history in terms of moves and cultural transitions. Why were the moves made? What differences in the way people thought or did things were noticed? How did your family maintain a connection to the culture from which they moved? What were the challenges and hardships associated with the move? What were the benefits?
