Complete the following tasks from the description given below:

a) Using the fact summary, create a use case diagram that shows the actors and business processes that take place when an incoming shipment arrives.

b) Create a state-transition diagram that shows each of the states described in the fact summary. Be sure to include properly labeled connecting lines

Description:

Business Process =Incoming shipment

• A freight carrier delivers a shipment from a supplier. • A warehouse technician scans the bar code to record the shipment, and the data is automatically transmitted to the accounting system. • If the shipment includes an RFID tag, the data automatically enters the system — otherwise the technician adds a RFID tag that serves as a locator. • An on-board fork lift computer senses the data and selected the proper storage location, and a forklift operator transports the shipment to the proper storage area.

Order fulfillment

• An order technician completes a customer order, which is automatically transmitted to the inventory management system if the items are in stock. If not in stock, they are designated for back-order status. The order includes items, quantities, and shipping information. An order can be cancelled at any time before it is transported to the shipping area. • The inventory management system generates a shipping list, which is transmitted to an on-board fork-lift computer. • A forklift operator goes to the designated location, retrieves the items, and delivers them to the shipping area, where a warehouse technician applies computer-generated labels. • A freight carrier picks up the shipment and initiates tracking information that continues until the shipment is delivered to the customer.

Summary : A shipment can be in various states, depending on events. For example, it can be in stock, out-of-stock, ordered, back-ordered, cancelled, in final shipping, shipped, in transit, or received by the customer.
