A and B are both men, aged 47 and 57 respectively. They have been living together as life partners for ten years and feel that their relationship has reached a stage where they would like to have children together. Although they both had been a bit wild in their youth (A was convicted for assaulting another man in a drunken brawl when he was younger), both feel that they are now more settled and ready to undertake the duties of parenthood. However, they think that adoption would be too risky and would prefer to have a child who is genetically related to them. They therefore decide to enter into a surrogacy agreement and approaches an adoption and surrogacy agency, XYZ, for help.
