The weight of the rocket acts downward. So, from newton's 2nd law The net force on the rocket Fi+ Fi+ F2 - weight of the rocket = ma 2F1+ F2- mg ... (1) Where Fi = force due to side tank = 6975000 N F2 = force due to central tank = 1074000 N my = weight of the rocket = 745 x 1000 x 9.8 = 7301000 N m = mass of the rocket = 745 x 1000* = 745000 N Upon substituting the givens 2 x 6975000 + 1074000 - 7301000 1 = 745000 0 = 10.360 m a = 10.37 So, option -(3) is correct
