It currently employs over 250 employees and is located in Canada and the U.S. Arrow is very well known in the industry for providing software that assists organizations in addressing their internet/intranet security needs and is well respected for its strong focus on R&D activities.

Recently, Arrow had a major breakthrough, inventing a new and innovative software program that will ensure better encryption of data across the Web. The industry is truly impressed with this innovation. The blogs are all talking about the technical genius and several articles have been written about this company appearing in the national newspaper and in IT related publications. The CEO, Oliver Queen, is very pleased with the attention and with this attention, the organization has experienced a significant demand for its products and services over the past several months. In fact, the VP Sales is projecting an increase of over 70% with respect to new orders within the next 12-15 months.

Oliver Queen is wondering how the organization is going to manage the volume of work. He is thinking about cost and availability of some critical skill sets especially in light of the current economic recession. His senior employees have all spoken to him about the need for more resources. The VP Sales says she needs more sales representatives, the engineering department is asking for more software engineers. HR is overwhelmed by the sudden need to hire and new employees are complaining that they are not being signed up on company benefit plans in a timely manner.

Oliver has asked you for advice as to what he should do to manage this volume of work.
