Bill, a do-it-yourself, handyman always has weekend projects. Each Saturday morning Bill goes to Joness Hardware to buy tools and/or material for the weekend job(s).
Each week Ed the store owner is there as well as some employees including Ricky who is always making sure the shelves are stocked and the store is neat and clean. Ricky sometimes helps Ed find what he is looking for.
Bill usually spends a few minutes talking to Ed while paying Ed for the items purchased.
A few times Ed was busy helping a customer plan a project, so Ricky accepted payment from Bill.
One Saturday Ed was not at the store, but making a delivery to a customer. Bill made a few large purchases and paid Ricky $745. The next week when Bill purchased some material and was about to pay Ed asked him when he was going to pay the $725 for the material, he had purchased the previous week. Bill said he had paid Ricky.
Ed responded that Ricky had quit his job on Tues and no longer worked at the store and was not authorized to accept payment. Ricky was only hired to stock shelves and clean.
Does Bill have to pay again?
