On October 1st Van mailed a proposal to sell 1000 boxes of tin plates to Barry at the fixed price of $5000. On October 8th, Van mailed a revocation of offer. On October 11th, Barry received the original offer from Van and accepted it by mail on the same day.
After sending the mail to Van, Barry turned around and offered to resell the goods to John. In the email to John, Barry wrote that "I offer to sell you 1000 boxes of tin plates for a price of $6000. This offer is irrevocable until November 5th. On 15th October, John read the email and immediately emailed Barry back saying that "I am happy to accept your offer. I just wonder whether the payment can be made in three instalments"
The letter of revocation from Van reached Barry on October 16t and the letter of acceptance by Barry reached Van on October 19th.
