can you please generate two outlines for me. One is labeled Jonnie and the other Lidel. I have included a template and a good draft of the paper (which you assisted in writing).

The outline needs to cover this information

In the next phase, ruminate on what you learned in your interview?especially anything that helped you to gain a deeper insight into the topics you studied in the course?and write a research and reflection paper in which you draw upon learning shared with your instructor and colleagues, your individual learning, and knowledge you have gained from the interview to demonstrate a more in-depth understanding of the foundational principles of management. In your paper, go beyond recitation of memorized facts or regurgitation of information; strive to synthesize the most important topics of management (i.e., leadership, personality, motivation, decision-making, communication, and the importance of good management to yourself and to society) into a hybrid research and reflection paper.

Your paper should integrate responses to each of the following questions in a well-organized and coherent paper:

  • What leadership precepts did your interviewee impart to you (or what can you glean on the topic as a result of your interview), and how do those dovetail with one or more of the modern theories of leadership?
  • How do the personalities of workers, colleagues, managers, and subordinates impact your performance in, and experience of, the workplace? How do they interact with one or more leadership models to create the most effective work environment?
  • In light of your interview, the leadership model(s) you?ve discussed, and your own personality, what one or two tenets of motivation theory have you taken away from the course?
  • How do your understandings of motivation theories impact your conceptions of the best practices when it comes to making decisions and communicating at work?
  • Based on your interview and on learning from this course, what does it take to be an effective employee, a successful manager, and an exemplary citizen of society?
image text in transcribed Guidelines and Outline Template for the Research Portfolio The paper should be six to eight pages in length (double-spaced), plus a reference page, and should use a minimum of eight credible sources. Be sure to follow the CSU-Global APA documentation style. For your topic, identify a local or global social problem that can be proven to exist and has potential to be solved. At the top of your outline, include an open-ended research question that asks how the problem can be solved. Example/research question: What would it take to reduce obesity in the United States/Ohio? The research question should be followed by a thesis, which answers the research question by stating a problem, cause, and solution. The thesis can be two sentences long if necessary. Example/thesis: [Problem] Obesity across the U.S. is on the rise [Cause] partly because of the amount of trans fats contained in restaurant food. [Solution] One solution would be to regulate the amount of trans fats restaurants are permitted to include in the food they serve and to require restaurants to clearly indicate the level of trans fats contained within each menu item. NOTE: The sample topic above cannot be used for your project. Topics that should be avoided are those currently being widely debated among media sources. Some topics to avoid include abortion, sex trafficking, gun control, and immigration among others. Each major heading below should be included on your own sentence outline and in your final paper. Use the boldface language for your own outline headings, adapted to fit your topic. *********************** Portfolio Project Outline Ima Sample 1/30/14 [Section I, Introduction: Introduce the social problem you are going to address.] I. Create an opening that generally introduces the problem using a statistic or true narrative example. 1. Provide a compelling true narrative, offer some background, or state a statistic to highlight the problem. 2. Introduce the research question: What would it take to reduce obesity in the United States? C. Close with the thesis. Obesity in the US is on the rise partly due to the amount of trans fats contained in restaurant food. One solution would be to regulate the amount of trans fats restaurants are permitted to include in the food they serve and to require restaurants to clearly indicate the level of trans fats contained within each menu item. [Section II, Problem: Establish proof of the problem, and identify the cause. Use several forms of credible support to prove the problem exists.] II. [Your topic:] _____________in ______________ is __________________________. [Sample topic:] Obesity in the United States is on the rise. 1. Define any potentially unclear terms: Obesity, trans fats, etc. 2. The problem exists. The following statistics show obesity in Ohio is increasing at an alarming rate. C. The following research studies point to trans fats as a significant part of the cause of obesity in the U. S. [Use evidence that is well documented in credible, scholarly sources.] D. The following localational examples bear out what the research indicates. [Section III, Cause: Present one cause and prove its connection to the problem.] III. [Your topic:] ___________________________ is partly responsible for the current problem. [Sample topic:] The amount of trans fats in restaurant foods is partly responsible for the current obesity rates 1. Refer to scholarly and primary research, and provide true examples to prove this is actually the cause of the problem. 2. Address opposition. 3. Provide more support for your claim here. [Section IV: Introduce the solution and offer credible support for how it should be carried out.] IV. [Your topic:] One potential solution could be ___________________________________ . [Sample topic:] One potential solution to the obesity crisis could be to regulate trans fats in restaurant food. 1. Based on credible sources, the solution can be implemented. 2. The solution has been tried successfully elsewhere. (If it has been tried, present the evidence here. If not, offer other reasons why you feel confident the solution will work.) C. Regulating trans fats begins by enacting legislation. 1. Explain how funding will be obtained. 2. Explain other steps for carrying out the solution. D. Address opposition. [Section V: Conclude the paper beginning with a restatement of the thesis.] V. [Your topic:] __________________________ is a problem, partly because of________________________, and _________________________ is a logical way to address it. [Sample topic:] Clearly, obesity in the United States is a problem, at least partially due to high levels of trans fats in foods, and improving the quality of restaurant food is a logical way to begin to address it. 1. Summarize the main points of the paper. 2. One possible way to end is by providing a call to actionsomething that inspires the reader to do something and gives him or her direction for how to add a voice to the cause. 3. Another possible way to end is with an effective, true example of a success story related to the implementation of your solution. Zach Klein, D Age: 35 Education: Bachelor's degree, Ohio State University; law degree, Capital University Employer: Self-employed lawyer Zach Klien is a believer in bringing our community together. His current project he is managing is establishing better relationships between law enforcement and community members. His struggle in his role is his age. Many people believe that a young man as himself lacks the experience needed to bring about change. Traits of a good leader are similar throughout most professions, but community leaders need to establish a unique approach to achieve goals. A professor in Columbus State University released a new study to look into whether or not Columbus is the most dangerous city in Georgia. Crime stories in the Chattahoochee Valley often make residents anxious and worry about the city \"I will work to ensure the city is doing its part to constantly improve police/community relations and the overall safety in all our neighborhoods. We can do this on several fronts, such as continuing our work to increase diversity within our safety forces by examining testing and waiting times for those who apply, as well as initiating further partnerships with Columbus City Schools; advocating for further use of cameras, especially body cameras, for our Division of Police; encouraging and continuing the dialogue between police, neighborhood leaders, the faith community and all city residents.\" This project will explore how Mr. Klein is able to build a project including the stregths of community members. It will explore how he is able to maximize individuals strengths and balancing the needs of control within the groups. He will have to ensure that members are working as a team and everyone is pitching in. This project is one of many challenges and Mr. Klein will have to practice stewardship and be accountable to the community. Having a strong team from as early as the planning stage will allow ample time to think forward, recruit, and mentor new leaders. Leadership Program Johnnie Newsome Week 2 Critical Thinking Option 2 Colorado State Global December 16, 2016 MGT 300 Leadership Program Introduction I currently work for a Garrison Command on an Army Installation. Our organization has an awesome opportunity for its employees to be selected for a Leadership Program. This program is hosted by a local University, and only selects 12 participants a year. The application process requires an in-depth questioning into abilities, past experiences and why the candidates feels that they are suitable for the program. Selection is based on the employees past performance, significant contributions and being rated above peers. The course is yearlong and includes networking experiences and the ability to earn certifications in instructing and leadership. This paper will highlight four soft skills, and define how they are imperative to my career path and are applicable to the Leadership Program. I believe that the use of these four skills: Communication, Critical Thinking, Organization and Motivation is what makes me a perfect candidate for the program. According to De Villiers (2010) soft skills are necessary for all business students. They complement the technical skills learned during their studies and ensure students are equipped to understand and deal with the demands of the business environment. Communication Communication skills are required to properly give and receive information. This skill is needed when conveying ideas, sharing opinions and expressing past experiences. The process can be completed with the use of verbal, aural, non-verbal, written and visual forms. This skill is not only how someone chooses to deliver a message but also needed to interpret the information received from others (Colorado State University Global Campus, 2016). Leadership Program Communication is used in our working environment to give briefing on funding, training for financial readiness and building relationships with community members. I joined my current team a year ago and discovered the challenge was how and when to share my ideas and concerns. Early on my leadership applauded by boldness to share new ideas or question anything I was unsure about. My past military experience also assisted me in gaining great communication skills. We are trained in the military to make eye contact and have good posture. These two actions result in the receiver believing that the speaker is confident and knowledgeable about the topic. I also learned to listen before reacting. Knowing how to listen carefully and follow instructions assists supervisors to have confidence in the work tasked will be completed. The Leadership Program is for future leaders of Army Installations, and I believe my ability to communicate my skills on my application will assist me in being selected. Critical Thinking Most organizations have incorporated automated systems to conduct many workplace tasks and duties. The jobs needing personnel require critical thinking that automated systems fail to accomplish. Thinking critically is taking an objective approach to achieve a goal with the use of evaluation not assumptions or past practices (De Villiers, 2010). This skill is essential in our work environment when deciding on which projects to fund, determining manpower needed and ensuring policies and guidelines are being followed. When first starting my current position I investigated our policies and guidelines to ensure I understood what was expected of me. Once I felt I was proficient in my tasking, I sought out the policies and guidelines of other departments that I communicated with. I believe Leadership Program that this allowed me to understand the complete picture of how the organization operated and allowed me to network to discover better practices. This practice has built a report between departments and opened the doors to discovering possibilities to become more efficient. The Leadership Program is seeking future leaders that are able to think outside the box and step away from the norm which I have display with the use of critical thinking. Organization Along with communication and critical thinking, organizational skills is one of the most important soft skills a worker can possess (Weber, Finley, Crawford & Rivera, 2009). Organized workers understand the importance of planning, scheduling, coordinating resources, meeting deadlines and time management. Leaders need workers that can stay organized and present ideas in a clear manner. This skill in our business is essential to meeting the needs and obtaining the vision. Organization saves time and ensures employees are on track with the expectations of their leaders. Disorganization in the workspace will cultivate a negative environment with more focus on clutter and less focus on achieving business goals. Our organization is based off of meeting timelines and fulfilling duties in support of our War Fighters. Many public officials conduct business in our office. The first impression will set the tone and determine if we are prepared and ready to meet our obligations. Employees that show up late, do not have the required information or fail to provide accurate information will cause embarrassment and a negative impact on our brand. I attempt to always display myself and the information I plan to deliver in a clean professional manner. I practice with an audience to ensure that I will have information requested easily accessible. My leadership understands Leadership Program that I am organized which allows them less stress because I have earned more trust. Completing my application for the Leadership Program in an organized manner ensured information was clear, correct, easy to understand and submitted before the deadline to allow time for changes if necessary. Motivation Motivation at work can greatly impact the overall environment. There is external motivation from leaders and peers and internal motivation from the individual's desire to be great. This skill requires time taken for recognition of achievements, showing respect, offer assistance, investigate opportunities for growth and being encouraging (De Villiers, 2010). Working so close to military members provides a perfect example of motivations. Leaders shouting out cadences during early morning run is enough to get anyone up and going. Unfortunately, doing the same job day after day requires the use of perks, monetary awards and individual encouragement to motivate employees. Our department used motivation to reduce boredom and redundancy. Leadership seeks out ways to rotate assignments that allows employees to be comfortable but incorporating a new challenge. The emphasize on hard work and rewards with opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. I love to work and am self-motivating. I am eager to assist and help a peer when in need. The Leadership Program is seeking future leaders, and believe I am a good fit into the program because I am motivated to share and gain knowledge. Leadership Program Conclusion Beyond the technical skills needed in todays advanced working structures, organizations understand that the employees who are pleasant, can communicate clearly, are innovative and organize are the gems needed to have a successful department. My finance organization has great work ethic and meets deadlines with accurate work, but is that enough? Customers expect empathy and an understanding into their unique situations. The Leadership Program offered in my workplace acknowledges employees that stand out and go above requirements or expectations. The use of soft skills is what sets employees apart from one another and allows leadership to gauge an employee's level of dedication.
