Sleeping Arrangements and Intimacy

Brandon and Sheila are the parents of Maya. Maya is currently 1 year old. Maya has been sleeping in her parents' bed since she was a newborn. Brandon and Sheila are considering transitioning Maya to her own bed. Brandon feels very strongly about Maya being moved into her own room, but Sheila thinks it is easier to let her stay in the bed until Maya decides she wants to use her own bed. Brandon has told the counselor that he and Sheila have not been intimate since the birth of Maya. They have friends who offered to babysit Maya so that the couple could go on a date; however, Sheila does not want to leave their baby and often makes up excuses why they cannot go.
