Part 1
a. Introduction to OBSERVATION:
Introduce the background of the story, explain WHY did they have these kind of experiences. You could do this by:
Making links to the weekly program, to the goal/s for the child, or the projects taking place within the room. Making a connection with the way you have set up the environment or provocation. Explaining what you know about the child; their knowledge, strengths, interests and culture. Describing a spontaneous moment you observed that you feel would link to the child's goal/s.
- As part of our curriculum, educator placed 'sensory rice tray' on the table and invited Aaron and all other children to the table. Aaron, in particular, got super excited and rushed to the table, leading to this experience.
b. Body: What did you observe?
Include: the child's actions, gestures/facial expressions, the child's voice, questions you asked or prompts you gave, the child's disposition, interactions with other children/educators.
- When the educator took off the 'sensory rice tray', Lee got really excited. He quickly grabbed the tray and explored the rice. As he immersed himself in the sensory-rich encounter, his beaming smile exuded happiness. Notably, Lee was drawn to the ornamental pine pieces that adorned the tray. He displayed a tremendous level of engagement, clutching the wood with 'awe'
c. ANALYSIS of Learning:
What has this experience told me about what, and how, the child is learning?
Record what you recognise about the child's learning and development in relation to their goals. The EYLF is very helpful for this as the learning outcomes give you the words to use to make the learning visible for families. They are designed to be holistic so there will often be links to several learning outcomes, however you only need to make a link to ONE learning outcome.
-This experience demonstrated Lee's active participation and social interaction with both peers and educators. He explored the sensory activity by putting objects in his mouth and engaging in throwing actions. With this, he indeed showed that there is an active interaction among him and the people around him.
d. PLAN - Where to next?
What are your intentions for further learning? What strategies and experiences will you provide? When will this occur?
This section is where you plan for future learning in response to what you have noticed and the learning which is currently happening for this child. Think of ways to extend the experience to build on the child's interests or skills and extend their learning towards achieving their goals.
-We intend to give Lee with a varied selection of interesting activities in order to further cultivate his burgeoning interests and skills. One such planned activity is "Rolling Ball Painting," on 3/10/2023. This creative activity will allow Lee to immerse himself in a world of colors, motivating him to explore and interact with his friends.

-As a part of today's activity, Ann set up a 'Big soft block building' and the children excitedly rushed to come and start climbing on the big block, in particular, Lee was very happy which lead to this learning experience that he does appreciate activities such as those and showing that he has an active body and mind towards what he has been doing.

- From the experience, it had been recognized that Lee can easily respond to any activities given to him. One good response was when he clim the blocks which made him feel happy. This is a good development of a child because he knows how to react with given situations.
