In this tutorial, we are going to calculate the magnetic field due to an infinite sheet of current which lies in the xy plane with y horizontal and z vertical. It has a constant current density i = Ko where ic has units of amps/m. If you move a distance dy to the right, you will pass by a small amount of current equivalent to di = Kody. Before you can begin to use Ampere's Law, you must understand the structure of the magnetic field and must be convinced that it has sufficient symmetry for Ampere's Law to be useful. Ampere's Law is $ B . 25 = Kolpassing through. 1. While the current is uniformly spread out, the diagram shows it as a number of equally spaced currents for convenience. Draw vectors representing the magnetic field at point P due to the four currents labeled ABCD. Then graphically add those fields together to determine the direction of the net magnetic field at point P. Then repeat this for point O. OP X A B C D 2. If point P were closer to the infinite current sheet, would you expect the net magnetic field to be larger, smaller, or the same size? Explain your reasoning.3. If point P were moved to the left or right, would you expect the net magnetic field to change in any way? Explain your reasoning. 4. Draw the magnetic field lines below as accurately as possible
