The test's purpose is to compare the average of a single sample with a predicted population value. This aim is valuable for assessing the impact of adequate staffing and workplace wellness in medical-surgical settings on retention after the unsuccessful implementation of decreased work shift hours. This test aims to ascertain whether adequate staffing and workplace health are more effective than shorter work hours in terms of staff retention. The null hypothesis can be rejected when the p-value is smaller than the significance level. The result will also assist in determining the confidence interval for sufficient staffing. Moreover, it aids in determining if the outcome of workplace wellness and staffing is statistically significant compared to the preceding intervention.
