Psychological practices, both clinical and non-clinical, could greatly benefit from distinct and explicit Christian concepts, practices, and approaches, even though it may receive much pushback from others. One of the benefits of being a Christian is being connected with the All-Knowing God and having the Holy Spirit, who was sent as a helper. One reason for psychological services is to help someone heal from a traumatic experience. However, there may be unrecognized or forgotten trauma that may drive a person to need therapy. In many of these cases, hypnotherapists are used to remind a person of past trauma. Unfortunately, this practice may open the door to other spiritual issues, whereas obtaining knowledge from the Holy Spirit and using the power we were given from the Holy Spirit would have a greater chance of bringing about complete healing than the use of hypnotherapy. While scriptures do not indicate whether or not everyone who experienced deliverance maintained their deliverance, I believe the chances of relapses and repeat hospitalizations would decrease if Christian concepts were used in psychological practices. Many therapeutic approaches may try to hide, or mask, the apparent problem and do not recognize the root cause of the problem. With Christian psychological practices, a therapist, and even the client, can approach the issue with prayer to gain better, and quicker, insight on the root cause of a problem and seek the Holy Spirit as to ways to solve the problem. Overall, psychological practices may become easier on the psychologist and the client if distinct and explicit Christian concepts were utilized.
