DRB-HICOM Berhad is one of Malaysia's leading corporations, involved in the autorniotive manufacturing, assembly, and distribution industry. They manufacture two types of four-wheel drives, Model A (ModA) and Model B (ModB). Model A requires 20kg of fiberglass, 40 minutes of welding time, and 60 minutes of painting time. Model B requires 25kg of fiberglass, 100 minutes of welding time, and 40 minutes of painting time. DRB-HICOM's supplier indicated that 40,000kg of fiberglass will be available in the next quarter. In addition, DRB HICOM estimates that 2,000 hours of welding time and 1,600 hours of painting time will be available over the same period. The profit contributions are RM200 per unit for Model A and RM280 per unit for Model B. The computer solution is shown in Figure 1 below.
