Exercise 8. Take three of the glued together sheets of plastic spheres. Using two of the sheets can you form a simple cubic packing structure? Can you use 3 sheets to form FCC and BCC? It's hard to tell BCC and FCC apart but can you see that there are two different ways to stack the three sheets? Use a probe to see if there are any holes completely through the three sheet packing conformations. Use the marbles to locate the big and small holes located between the layers. 1.
