Fat-E is considering selling directly through a large national retail chain called All-Trade Outdoor (ATO) who would like to stock Fat-E's product but will require large volumes of inventory to do so. ATO would ship Fat-E's bicycle to their store locations across Canada and customers would pick up the bicycle fully assembled and charged at the retail level. Fat-E would need to ship in Truckload volume to ATO's two distribution centres located in Kelowna BC and Montreal QC. The production manager for Fat-E is cautiously optimistic that their production can accommodate the increased volume. The packaging was originally designed to be shipped as individual items and the CEO thinks that there may be some potential savings in reducing the packaging expense given that the product will not require the same level of protection in transit. Specifically, you have been asked to: 1. Discuss the logistical impacts of expanding into the ATO business (i.e., packaging, cost, transit time, etc.) 2.
