They stay with their parents in a township. John enjoys making fun of his sister by telling her that she looks like a "giant aunty, because she is bigger than him. Sarah tries her best not to show John that she gets angry with him when he makes such rude comments. Sarah likes to reason and to try out new strategies to solve problems. She enjoys spending time with her girlfriends and is then in trouble, because she does not have enough time to do her household chores, like helping with cooking and cleaning. John loves to play soccer and is a good goalkeeper. He can move gracefully on the soccer field, is well co-ordinated and well balanced. He sees himself as a future South African soccer hero. He loves to analyse soccer game strategies and discuss and critique the placement of players in national teams. John is often reprimanded by his parents. because he does not respect the curlew to be back at home in the evenings at a certain time.
