Proton's electric car has a base price of RM 75,000, but with the new announcement of green policy by the government, it is eligible for a RM 10,000 government tax exemption. The cost for leasing the vehicle will be RM 12,000 per year (payable at the end of each year) after an initialization charge of RM 2,500 paid now. If the company make a decision to purchase the vehicle, it will also need to purchase an electrical charging station for RM 5,000 and expects to be able to sell the car for 60% of the base price of the car alone at the end of 3 years. (a) Evaluate whether the company should buy or lease the car, if the interest rate is at 10% per year (10 marks) (b) Determine the economical value if the company plan to extend the project at the job site for another 3 years with salvage values of the car is 50% (10 marks)
