In this assignment, the objective is to apply the lessons around safety management planning that we covered in Module 3 to the issues we discussed in office spaces. The core elements of a safety and health management program on which we will focus are: (a) employee involvement; (b) hazard identification and assessment; and (c) education and training.

This module covered three issues: (1) slips and falls, (2) ergonomics, and (3) indoor air quality. This assignment asks you to do three things:

  1. Using (1) slips and falls,(a) employee involvement see steps below:
  2. Imagine that an office space is trying to address the issue you selected. You're on a team of managers who have each been assigned safety plan elements. You're responsible for drafting this part of your company's plan. Describe how the core element that you chose would address that issue. For example, if you chose employee involvement and the issue of slips and falls, what steps would your plan include to facilitate employee involvement to reduce the hazard and risk of injury from slips and falls?

The readings for this module will assist with understanding an employers' obligations related to the three issues covered in the module.

For understanding what your element of the safety plan should address, here are some of our previous readings that you should review for your element. These are all just for skimming to help you develop specific components of your safety plan.
