Group 1 -Life Happens:I appreciate the brevity of Group 1's GCCM plan and its practical focus considering that business/management plans in general should be brief but thorough in content. The plan could perhaps benefit from more references to the PMAN 638 readings (or external readings), though. Referencing these readings would provide greater theoretical context for the activities and communication choices made by the group. Since the stated outcome, per the assignment requirements, "is to develop a plan...that you could apply to your group or any other group in most organizations," sharing more theory would support the goal of broader plan applicability.
Group 2 -Powered by Coffee:I appreciate how the plan ensured a significant portion of its content addressed conflict and conflict management, with roughly half of the plan on communications more generally and half on conflict management. There seems to be a discrepancy between how the two sections are written, though, since the communications portion is primarily practical, and the conflict portion is more theoretical. This is not a significant issue, but the plan seems a little unbalanced in its focus on conflict/conflict management without addressing other related elements, such as motivation and politics, or going more deeply into elements like negotiation and argumentation. If these could be expounded upon more, it would strengthen the plan's ability to address conflict, its causes, pre-emptive measures, etc.
Group 4 -The Marylanders:I appreciate that the plan seems to focus on describing the values of the team, which could help orient member behavior toward desired norms. However, the statements made surrounding such values are a bit unclear concerning how the values will be practically lived out or encouraged within the team, or within other virtual teams for which the group's GCCM plan might serve as a model. Similarly, with the discussion of conflict management, conflict is addressed at a high level before a general description of the conflict management styles and several lists of activities that could be done in relation to conflict management are presented.
