To complete Part 4 of the project:

1. Identify survey data that can be described using measures of central tendency (mean, median, and mode).
2. Evaluate the best measure of central tendency for each data set you analyze.
3. Examine the distribution, range, and variance of the data.
4. Consider how the distribution and range reflect theanswers to the study question.
5. Write a summary of findings based on an analysis of the measures of central tendency.

What was the measure of central tendency best suited to report age of those who took the survey?

• How does this measure compare to a measure found with one other measure of central tendency?
• What was the range and distribution of ages?
• Did the 'average' age and range of ages affect the study? Explain why or why not.

Now look at other items on the survey and the type of data collected. Identify two additional items and calculate the measure of central tendency best suited for each.

• What survey questions did you use?
• What were the measures of central tendency used? If no measure fits the data, explain how you will report that finding.
• Why were those measures of central tendency used?

Look back at the measures of central tendency from Questions 1 and 2 above.

• What can you conclude based on these measures of central tendency? Write one conclusion for each data set.
• What new question stems from one of these measures?
