Lake 4 is one of the largest lakes in the world. There is a plan by a large multinational company to construct 2 manufacturing plants alongside the lake. All these plants will release compound 1 in the lake. As part of the environmental impact study, the half-life of the compound in the lake was obtained through batch experiments and can be found in the table. You are asked to complete the environmental impact study by answering the questions below. To do so, you will need to find the necessary lake properties using the internet. Please cite the exact website URL where you find the information using proper reference format for a website (use the AMA style for your citation(1), you can ask a librarian for help). Hint: To make your calculation you will need the hydraulic residence time, the volume, and the discharge flow rate (equal to the influent flow rate); note that if you know two of these three quantities, you know the third one. (1) Guide to website citation using AMA: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/ama_style/electronic_sources.html a. Based on what was seen in class for a generic lake, justify with one full sentence what type of reactor you should use in your calculations. [3 Points] b. How much compound can be released from each plant (in kg/day) such that the water of the lake never contains more than 25g/L of that compound? Assume that the waste stream flow rates are negligible compared to the lake discharge rate, and further assume that the waste stream flow rates and compound concentrations will be equal at each plant. [5.5 Points] c. Assume that the plants will be built one residence time apart (i.e. the residence time of the lake). Plot the profile of concentration of the compound in the lake over time starting from first plant in operation up to all the way to steady state. [5.5 Points] d. Do you expect that the concentrations in the lake will reach steady state (i.e. 95% of steady-state concentration) between the construction of two plants? If not, how long would it take to reach steady-stae. In a short paragraph argue for the pros and cons (at least 2 each) of waiting for steady-state between the construction of each plant. Among other factors, you can consider the uncertainties associated with all data, and you can consider the sustainability pillars. [5.5 Points] e. Based on the dimensions of the lake that you can find, provide additional justifications or
