Training Effectiveness

Many organizations take necessary steps to ensure that their workers are competent and effective when discharging their duties. One o the organization's strategies is training its workforce with the appropriate skills to help them discharge their duties. But the effectiveness of this training should be understood to minimize the wastage of resources and workers' time. According to Umar et al. (2020), "training effectiveness" was coined to describe how well a training program met its goals and how satisfied its participants were with its various components. Therefore, training effectiveness can be determined by evaluating whether the workers are helping the organization achieve its goals after workers have been trained.

Furthermore, according to Arun Kumar et al. (2021), to accomplish anything as a team, an organization made up of individuals with varying skill sets, there is a need for the people to share an understanding of the organization's goal and harmonious cooperation in developing ideas. Therefore, through training, the workers will be equipped with skills that will enable them to achieve these goals. Besides, Maguire et al. (2019) argue that workers participating in the training will have increased confidence, skills, attitudes and knowledge, thus working together effectively to realize the organization's goals. Besides, for training to be effective, organizations should tailor them to meet the workers' needs and personalities (Kempf & Holtbrgge, 2020).

Hence, to minimize the wastage of resources, organizations should have means and strategies that will allow them to determine the effectiveness of training. One of the strategies is looking at the training transfer. The term "training transfer" refers to the significant degree to which newly accumulated knowledge and skills can be used effectively in real-world contexts (Sitzmann & Weinhardt, 2019). Furthermore, Salisu (2020) argues that microfinance or the provision of capital is an essential intervention to couple with training because it encourages trainees to use their newly acquired knowledge and skills. Hence, according to Kodwani & Prashar (2019), organizations can maximize the advantages of training for both apprentices and the organization if they thoroughly understand the factors contributing to pre-training encouragement and training effectiveness.
