n w/c 04/12/2023 mal Scenario or You are a stress engineer for an aerospace company. Three scenarios are given which show a wide range of mechanical engineering problems with plates, beams, cables and bolted joints. You have been requested to calculate the resultant force in an aircraft wing box and to perform stress calculations on an aircraft shackle and cable joint. Furthermore, you must calculate the beam reactions for a loaded roof structure. The diagram below shows the forces on an aeroplane wing plate during flight. Use the table method to carefully resolve all the forces into their horizontal (Fh) and vertically components (Fv) and calculate the turning moments about point A on the wing plate. 4 m 22 kN 10 kN 55 A 2 m 15 kN Use the table method to determine the following: 0 25 12 kN i. ii. Resultant force (R) and direction acting on the plate. Turning moment (M) acting about point A. iii. Perpendicular distance (x) from the line of action of the resultant force to point A. sion 1.0 August 2017 Assessment C Assessment
