Phase I: Open-Ended Lab For the temperature, pressure, level, or flow control unit: a) Specify values of set point, controlled variable, manipulated variable, and gain/sensitivity. b) Apply a forcing function c) Then use Proportional, Proportional Integral (PI), Proportional Derivative (PD), and Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control mechanisms to analyze the system response to the forcing function. d) Compare the results of the control mechanisms Phase II: Simulink Based Analysis For the temperature, pressure, level, or flow control unit considered in phase I, perform the following tasks: a) Develop a closed control loop in Simulink for the control unit of phase I and the specifications. b) Use/tune P, PI, and PID controllers in the Simulink to analyze the control system response to the forcing function. c) Compare trends of Phase I step (c) and phase II step (b) d) submit the Simulink models and a detailed report on both phases
