Newton theorized the existence of a force that causes mutual attraction between two objects with mass, more commonly known as gravity. In this project you will be developing a unique experimental procedure to measure the acceleration due to gravity on Earth. After writing the procedure, you will also perform the experiment and collect the necessary data to then analyze and give an approximate value for gravitational acceleration at your location. This experiment can be done extremely "low tech" with just common household objects, so complicated pieces of technology should not be used.

Requirements: Specific requirements for each portion of the written experiment and data collection can be found below. All parts of the experiment should be typed using an easy-to-read format of your choosing.

Procedure The experimental procedure should be a step-by-step guide that someone could follow to setup the experiment and collect data during the experiment. If you use a complicated apparatus/setup for this experiment, please also provide pictures/diagrams explaining how to collect data. Data Collection Provide appropriate tables, charts, or other ways to organize the data that is being collected. Each method of data collection/recording should be clearly labeled with what is being recorded including the specific units. Data Analysis The data analysis section should include a step by step procedure that walks you through each step in calculating the gravitational acceleration on Earth from the raw data that was collected. You should have both written instructions as well as an example calculation for this section. Conclusion The conclusion should explain the significance of the data that you were able to gather, specifically, it should compare your experimental result to the commonly used average value of 9.8 m/s2. Your conclusion should also explain how and why your value that you found may deviate from the average value that we commonly use.

Finally, the procedure should provide some insight into how error was introduced into this experiment, including potential ways that error could be eliminated in future repetitions of this experiment
