1. Phrase wise: introduce the song with a brief story.  Sing one phrase than ask children to repeat.  Then sing two phrases and so on.
2. Whole song: present the whole song in lots of ways, with moving, play instruments, and dramatizing to make repetition meaningful.
3. Teaching songs from recordings: using the whole song method, respond to the music with rhythm, instruments, and movement.

Teach new songs to children that you work with using 2 different methods from those listed above.  What songs did you choose?  Was there one method you preferred?  Why?  What were strengths of each method?  What were any perceived weaknesses?
