Processing Assignment Acrostic Poem

An acrostic poem is a poem that uses a key word as a stem, or anchor. This word is written horizontally down the page.

Each letter of the word is then used to start a sentence of its own.

Select a key word from the chapter (hint: this might be in the title of the unit, such as in this unit "California" would make a good anchor word) to create poem that captures the main points of the chapter.

This can be done using a computer, or by hand. If you are feeling creative, you can add creative touches.

While you might be thinking-- "hey, why am I writing poetry in a POSC class?!"-- this assignment is NOT actually a poem. Instead, it requires you to select one overarching key concept of the unit (your anchor word) and then connect main ideas from the unit to that word. In short, you are selecting key information and processing it in a creative way.
