Project Managers need to understand how to document the scope, WBS and budget for a project and incorporate those elements into a Project Schedule. By having project deliverables and work defined in a project schedule with all associated costs, this provides the Project Manager with a powerful tool to be able to execute the project and monitor and control the project performance. It also enables the Project Manager to effectively control changes and adjustments needed to deliver the project. Project Managers perform this activity with the aid of tools. Using the network diagram as well as the WBS file provided below, prepare a Project Schedule. Load the tasks as noted in the WBS file. You do not need to further breakdown the WBS elements beyond what is provided in the WBS file below. The resources and resource costs are located in the WBS file as is the start date and holidays. Use the network diagram to determine the predecessors for each task, task durations and the resource assignments for each task. You do not need to resolve the resource over allocations through leveling. (Should be a Project.mpp file) Also, address these questions: . What is the total cost for the project? . lf task 1.4.1 is delayed by two days, what happens to the project? Explain why. . lf task 1.3.1 is delayed by twenty days, what happens to the project? Explain why. . Using the project schedule you created, which task is a milestone? Describe the attributes that make it a milestone? 5. Review the work for the Project Manager. What issues do you see in the allocation of work for the Project Manager in this schedule and how can you fix the issues you found? DOOMi WBS Resources Costs 1.
