Read Chapter 7 of Getting to Yes and think of something you have had to negotiate in the past year or two where you needed a BATNA to make a good decision about your choices. Did you have a BATNA? If so, what did it consist of, and how did you weigh your BATNA against the options presented to you in the negotiation? How did that work out? If you didnt have a BATNA, what would it have been? How did not having a BATNA limit your negotiating possibilities? What was the result? Do you think it would have turned out better if you had a BATNA?
