1. Research has found that traditionally most males have dominated project management and women were underrepresented (Mulenburg, 2002). However, Rosener (1990) conducted a study that found that women tend to use transformational leadership styles more than men do and thus makes them better leaders. This however can work both as an advantage and disadvantage for women in succeeding on their projects. Describe comprehensively how being an energiser and mobiliser can work effectively for a woman project manager to succeed in her projects.
2. Determine how organizations can use transformational leadership style to enable the entire enterprise the ability to change because of increased motivation and aligned orientation.
3. Some leadership styles increases the sense of powerlessness of project team members and negatively affect self- efficacy (Liu et al., 2003):

a) Appraise the role of self-efficacy in managing projects, especially when a project manager has a strong sense of self- efficacy.

b) Create a scenario where you had to deal with a charismatic or narcissistic leader in a project environment.

4. In project management environment, diversity brings different mind sets and skills together. It exposes people to different perspectives, and that way people can grow and empower each other:

1. Suggest how you would manage diversity within your project team.
2. Trust! Is it a building bock in developing a high performing team or not? Justify your answer.

According to (Turner, 1993 et.al), there has been a dramatic increase in changing of work environments and work practices since the 1990s due to adopted project management methodologies and processes. Crawford (2000), further suggests that as more organisations adopt project management as a modus of operandi to deliver work packages, the demand for project managers to develop people skills and management competencies has also increased.

a) Based on the outcome of the literature review from an article by Eddie Fisher (2010) describe what five (5) authors /researchers suggest and consider being important skills and associated behaviours for an effective project manager.

b) As a highly competent project manager, managing a team with a variety of personalities, traits and backgrounds can be challenging. Propose five strategies you will follow in developing a cohesive, high performing team. Support your answer.
