As CEO of a large organization, you would like to lead in the decision making when your company has become a victim of a cybercrime. A company board meeting will be held in the near future and you would like the Boards approval on how you plan on proceeding on this issue.

Before moving forward, however, you must completely understand [the research on] cybercrimes, so a formal proposal may be written. Outside research will no doubt be required to thoroughly complete the proposal.

The proposal must include (but is not limited to) addressing/research on the following:

Types of cybercrimes generally and specifics on the type associated with the present intrusion. Note, students are free to choose which cybercrime has occurred. In addition, in it not unheard of for businesses to get hit with multiple types in an intrusion.

The impact, financial and/or otherwise, cybercrimes can have on a business generally and could have presently.

An analysis of the steps you plan on taking. This can include: investigation, damage limitation, getting outside help, reporting the attack, eradication, and conducting a post-incident review.

Deciding whether to pursue prosecution of the criminals at all costs, maintain a low profile to avoid the negative publicity, inform affected customers, or take some other action?

MSSP consideration.

What will be done to prevent and/or lessen the risk of a reoccurrence.

Your proposal should be realistic, coherent, precise, and creative. It should address all required points and any additions you feel appropriate in a research-based manner using text support and outside research to create a comprehensive and informational proposal.
