Several big-ticket categories are going to make up a vast majority of an event's budget. Those categories include: venue rental, accommodations (hotels), meals, transportation, ancillary events, equipment, and staff salaries. Big-ticket items, though, are not the only items that go into an event budget. Awards is an example of a cost that is not considered a big-ticket category but would need to be budgeted for if you event is providing awards.
