Since 2019 diabetic truck drivers have been allowed to drive on the nation's interstates without an exemption. Once they meet the requirements, these drivers can be certified for a year (HR Weekly, 2018). With this, the safety of not only the drivers, but the general public can be at risk if drivers and the companies they drive for do not take care of their health. In this case study we will look at our company and develop a strategy to keep our diabetic drivers healthy and, on the road, safely. For the purposes of this study, we will take our number of drivers that went through annual screenings, 100, and develop a program for the 39% of them with Type I and Type II diabetes. We will also look into a fitness plan for all employees of the company. Controlling Diabetes in the Workforce
