1. Suppose that you have a group member who has an accent and expresses a fear that the other group members will have hard time understanding them in the group setting. What questions would you ask this group member? How will you engage the other group members to help alleviate the anxiety of the group member?
2. A group member comes to your group session and immediately expresses a concern about a group member who has posted prejudicial viewpoints on social media. How do you as a group leader address the concerns of this group member? How do maintain trust and cohesion in the group?
3. In our content this week, we have reviewed the multicultural considerations of the theoretical approaches. Why is important to make sure that when we select a particular approach to implement in our groups that we are flexible in our use of these approaches with diverse group members?
4. When members say they have been discriminated against and oppressed, what interventions will you make to prevent this from evolving into an abstract discussion about society at large within the group setting? Or would you let this discussion become part of your group session? (Corey, 2022)
