They are scaled down to be the size of a globe for Earth (seen below, about 30 cm in diameter or 12 in) and a tennis ball for the Moon (also shown below, about 7 cm in diameter or 2.5 in). The scale that was used is: 1 cm = 267 mi and 1 m = 26,700 mi a. With the Earth scaled down to an average globe size and the Moon scaled down to a tennis ball, we need to find out the scaled distance between them.
